My undergraduate senior thesis in art examines the concept of ‘home’ through a diasporic and transcultural lens to explore how personal and collective experiences of migration shape our identities. The core material of this piece is the used clothing of my loved ones. By fracturing, reconstructing, and shaping these materials into a wearable textile sculpture, I created a physical object that represents the components of my home and identity – which otherwise do not all exist in the same space. Through video performance, I embodied my sculpture as a living, breathing space that is alive with my own memories and experiences.

Exhibited at the Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery.
